How it works
How to use it: add one line for each package size, enter the total gross weight for that line, then copy the W/M conversion, minimum and rounding rule from your freight quote.
Formula. Measurement tons equal total CBM. Weight tons equal gross kilograms divided by the quote's kilograms-per-ton rule. The raw revenue ton is the larger of those totals. The calculator then applies your minimum and round-up increment.
Worked example. Two 100 x 80 x 75 cm pieces occupy 1.20 CBM. At 900 kg and 1,000 kg per weight ton, the weight basis is 0.90 RT, so measurement wins at 1.20 RT. At 80 per RT the base freight is 96.

W/M rules, minimums, rounding points, currencies and included surcharges vary by forwarder, trade lane and tariff. This is a transparent quote-checking estimate, not a carrier tariff. Enter the exact rules shown on your quote and do not treat the estimated base freight as a landed-cost total.
Frequently asked questions
What does W/M mean?
Weight or measurement means the shipment is rated on whichever specified basis produces the larger number.
Is one revenue ton always 1 CBM or 1,000 kg?
That is a common LCL convention, but not universal. The weight conversion, minimum and rounding fields are editable for that reason.
